Don’t forget the HCL Family Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26 at Shuksan Middle School.
Bellingham Public Schools and the Bellingham HCL Parent Association have partnered to bring you two very special guests: UW professor and national expert in Gifted Education Nancy Hertzog and UW Robinson Center for Young Scholars Academic Advisor Kathryn Grubbs. They will help us learn about meeting the social-emotional, behavioral and executive functioning needs of our children.
While we are working with our UW guests, your children will be involved in an art activity.
Please RSVP if you haven’t already, thanks!
Erin McCallum, the president of FIRST WA, is planning to visit Bellingham on Friday, September 18, to meet with local STEM leaders. We are planning to attend the TAG Lunch at the Pickford from 11:30-1:30p and then the Sehome Robotics Lab at 3:30pm. I would like to invite you to meet Erin at Sehome between 3:30-5:00pm. Erin has many exciting opportunities to share with us about the growth of the FIRST Robotics program and how we can benefit from their large network of supporters. Her goal is to provide some structure and leadership for our district so we can get better support from her organization. This meeting will be a chance to show off some of the cool STEM initiatives that are happening in Bellingham and learn about how we can improve the quality and reach of great STEM programs in the years to come.
I hope you can attend and spread the word about this event. Please forward this email to anyone is in interested in learning about FIRST (jrFLL, FLL, FTC, and FRC). We had so much positive growth in STEM and Robotics programs in the last couple years. Looking forward to meeting to discuss how to keep the momentum going.
Let me know if you have any questions or would like directions to the Sehome Robotics Lab at Sehome High School.
